Circle of Life: The Alabama-Coushattas

Circle of life: The Alabama-Coushattas as part of the Institute of Texas Cultures' Contemporary Indians of Texas Series. The program introduces viewers to a group of Indians from the Alabama and Coushatta tribes who have lived together on a reservation at the edge of the Big Thicket in East Texas since the 1850's. This videotape focuses on the present-day life of these Indians, showing how they have adapted to the larger culture surrounding them while keeping basic elements of their traditional culture and modifying outside elements to meet their needs.
